What's new under the stars of Cuzco ?

Great works
2021- 2022

For your comfort and safety, Dream of Stars has been revamped. The work was titanic and lasted more than a year but the result is impressive.

The roof was completely redone. It now rests on posts anchored in the ground to guarantee anti-seismic robustness.

The kitchen, the living room and the mezzanine have been completely refurbished with a modern kitchen, a new direct access to the patio and new sources of natural light but keeping the fireside. Bedroom 3 has been redone. We have added a mezzanine for the sleeping of a couple and a private bathroom. The office – extra bedroom has been added to bedroom 1 which keeps its bathroom and mezzanine. The patio “facing the stars” keeps its charm unchanged as does bedroom 2.

We hope that you will enjoy this new configuration that does not change the capacity of the house but makes it more pleasant and functional. We are happy to announce that the house is again open for rent!

By the fireside
October 2013

We love this house and we wish make her always more attractive and welcoming.

At the altitude of Cuzco, the evenings are often cold so very quickly came to us the idea to install a wood stove, in the dining room. There is nothing like a good fire in order to give a little more heat to an evening, whose program is already very pleasant: change the world round the local beer Cusqueña or a Pisco Sour, croon some songs accompanied on the guitar, play cards. The show and the crackling of the flames become integrated perfectly to the program of festivities.

But when you will strike the match, you will notice that, at an altitude of 3 400 m, making a fire requires method and patience. In order to take up the challenge, a stock of wood is waiting for you in the patio. The logs have been cut to the size of the hearth but the match would be wrong to pretend to fire them just as they are. To succeed, probably the match will need to ask you a favor: take the hatchet, whose presence is neither the stroke of the fate neither an effect decorative, and reduce the diameter of the logs.

But don’t worry, with the required qualities that you have without any doubt, a little newspaper and directions for use carefully prepared in order to guide you, we are sure that your evening by the fireside will be successful.

Firstly a big thank you.

Welcome to the gazette, where you'll find articles about the house, the region, and Peru in general. In this first article, we would like to thank all those who have helped with this marvelous project.

Erick, without your help, we would never have become the new owners of the house. Victor, as our lawyer your advice was precious. Marie-Andrée, our solicitor, you found the purchase complicated, but with your taste for the exotic, your optimism and permanent humour, you helped us a lot. Giuliana, the negotiation was atypical but fun and we were very pleased to have met you.
Thanks to all those who helped us name the little house .We choose Florence's idea, but there were many other good names. Without the patience, kindness and talent of Sonia and Gaëlle, this website wouldn't have seen the light of day, it was such a pleasure working with you. Thanks to Sabine and Alexandra for the wonderful photos in our photo gallery. "Rêve d'étoiles" is presented in 4 languages, thanks to Tracey's "perfect " English, Priscila's "Português muito elegante ", and Cristina's "español minucioso". Thank you.
Just a thought for those who have already sampled "Rêve d'étoiles à Cuzco" even before the house had had its facelift : Romain and Valérie, the pioneers, Jérôme and Sabine, and lastly Solange, family and friends.
We would also like to thank Miguel and Helmunt for their remarkable work in doing up the house. We are always a little sad to leave but very reassured to know that Ross Mery and Erick are looking after the house in our absence.

Our "Rêve d'étoiles à Cuzco" has come true and all the above have helped in their own way. Thank you.

Thank you for understanding.

We spent ten wonderful days in this very pleasant house, full of attention for tourists. There is so much to see, to feel in this Inca city that, after ten days, one feels that ten more would not yet be enough.

A week (too short !) of holidays, emotionally charged, with wonder, disorientation, with beautiful walks, surprising encounters. A picturesque, colorful and warm house. A charming and athletic family, who appreciates early morning getting up.... A Peruvian guide, Erick, thoughtful, smiling and really nice. A beautiful country with imposing landscapes. What happiness ! Thank you to Pascale, Hervé, Adélie, Erick, Domingo (our driver) for these very special holidays.

We spent two wonderful days in Cuzco. The house is very well situated, two minutes from the main square. The house is tastefully decorated and the patio is ideal for a siesta in the sunshine. Thanks to Pascale and Hervé for sharing their passion for Peru with us as well as tips on restaurants and shopping off the beaten track.

A big thank you to Erick for having concocted us a magnificent very diversified program! Its clear and thorough explanations, its availability, its kindness and its dedication allowed us to have a very pleasant stay. The fact of sleeping at the inhabitant's, in this particular case in Erick’s family, allowed us a total immersion, an experience very interesting and new for us. Our last days spent in Cuzco were also very pleasant, thanks to the house of Pascale and Hervé ideally situated and provided with everything for a maximum comfort: close to all the attractions of the city and at the same time set back thanks to her privileged location (in the depths of a kind of inner courtyard), she allows you to find yourselves quickly in the peace and to take advantage completely of the magnificent patio. Long life to Rêve d'Etoiles !
